Remember, when you want to make a transaction with your bank and enter it in Tally, just press “F4”! This will take you directly to the Contra Voucher menu.

Contra Voucher on Double Entry Mode

Go to Gateway of Tally > Vouchers > F4 – Contra Voucher > Ctrl + H – Change Mode > Select Double Entry.In this transaction we have opened a bank account. Here we deposited cash from our own pocket cash into our own bank account and opened a new bank account.

Date

You can change the date by using F2. (Note: You can keep the date only 1,2, and 31 in Educational Mode.)

Credit (Cr): You have to select the Ledger account of Cash A/c. In which you have to pass the entry of Cr (Credit) and enter its amount. Debit (Dr): You have to select the Ledger account of Bank A/c. in which you

The entry of Dr (Debit) has to be passed and its amount has to be entered. Note: The total amount of debit and credit should be equal. If the ledger of any account is not already ready, then while passing entry in any Voucher, you can create the ledger immediately by using Shortcut: Alt + C.

Narration

You have to tell the narrative. So that you can know later which transaction this entry belongs to.

Accept

Finally you have to accept the entry. You can use Enter or Y.

Payment Voucher on Single Entry Mode

Go to Gateway of Tally > Vouchers > F4 – Contra Voucher > Ctrl + H – Change Mode > Select Single Entry.

For example, 10000 withdraw from state bank of India.
In this transaction it is being told that Rs 10000 has been withdrawn from the State of India. We will pass its entry in Contra Voucher using Single Entry Mode like this.

Date:
